Other People’s Thoughts.
October 3, 2006 – 9:04 am |I have nothing original to say this morning. I blame the germs who live in my home. They steal my sweet kids and replace them with shrieking, whiny, red-nosed sneezers who can’t stop sniffling. They steal my clean house (who am I kidding my pretty dirty house) and replace it with a really dirty house full of used kleenex, half-eaten bowls of chicken soup, medicine bottles, etc. They steal my sleep and my oxygen. Now they’ve stolen my creativity.
You can thank the germs, though. Because instead of my tortured rambling, I am going to link you to some really good stuff put forth by others that I know you will enjoy.
Over the weekend Adam at ALOTT5MA provided a link to a clip of Prince singing with the Muppets. Take the time. It will definitely make you smile.
I also have found a new blog I enjoy – News Moms. These bloggers are two women in DC in the news business – they connect the important stories of the day to their own lives as working parents. Good stuff. In one post they referenced this article by Anna Quindlen where Quindlen discusses the importance of protecting our kids from negativity with the same fervor with which we protect them from the negative. Teaching them to enjoy life is important; it’s a good reminder.
Taking my cue from Quindlen, I am off to give ear infection medication and wipe noses. Then I am going to tell them the best thing about being sick is that you get to lay on the couch and watch TV while your mom waits on you. That is actually one of my most pleasurable memories of my youth – shout out to my mom.
