My oldest son’s impending fifth birthday means I should change my Display Name to avoid false advertising. For the past two years I could explain away all my shortcomings by touting my quantity of small children. “Oh, did I miss that bill? I’m sorry – three kids under five.” “You think your house is a mess – you should see mine: 3 under 5.” “No, I rarely get to movies, that’s just how it is… 3 under 5.” I am not sure what the worst part is – that the kids are getting older, that their aging means I am too, that I am out of a moniker (suggestions welcome in the comments), or that I might be losing my excuse for being less than perfect.
